“Letters to My Ex – Nikita Singh.”

Blurb as one on Goodreads – ‘It feels like I’m on autopilot; I have no control over anything. The pain of losing you is so crippling that I can barely hold pieces of myself together. The slightest nudge could break me. But somehow, my possessed brain knows what I need. It’s telling me to stick to my choice, to stay away from you, to open a Word document and bleed on paper, try to throw up all my jumbled thoughts in form of words, collect all disconnected facts, try to make sense of it all.’ From the bestselling author of Like a Love Song and Every Time It Rains, a story of heartbreak and things left unsaid…

My Review :-

‘Letters to My Ex’ by Nikita Singh seemed like a good change from my Fantasy and Dystopian Books. This book is written in the letter-format which is unique and unusual form of narration.
This is my first time reading book by Nikita Singh.
.
The Plot revolves around a couple Abhay and Nidhi. They have been in a Relationship for almost 5 years. As being in a relationship for such a long period of time they naturally decide to get engaged. Which is Called off by Nidhi. Which stunned everyone (even as a reader you wonder why would she do it???)
.
To Cope with the issue Nidhi starts to Pen down her Thoughts and feelings through letters. Abhay’s & Nidhi’s POV is shared which sort of help you gain insight into their Issues and Views. You have to read this book to understand why Nidhi broke off the Engagement.
Why she is writing letters to her Ex…?
.
PROS:-
📚The Book is an Contemporary read with Simple writing style which makes it an ideal choice for many.
📚People who enjoy Romance novels and short stories will enjoy it too.
📚 The Unique Part of this book is that it’s written in Letter Format (also known as the epistolary format.)
.
CONS:-
📚 I was a bit disappointed with the storyline and plot.
I expected it to be more than just a typical cliche story.
📚Though the pace of the story is narrated in an fast paced manner you tend to feel that something is lacking & you are missing out on certain aspects of the story.
📚Given that this is my First book by Nikita Singh. My experience wasn’t great. It was an Cliche Romance Read with nothing that could grab my attention. Though people who prefer to experience “epistolary”, format should definitely read it.
.
📚I would rate it 2.5 out of 5.
